Probably the best known of Drummond's designs for the LSWR, the M7 tanks were certainly the longest lived - the first appeared in 1899, the last was withdrawn in 1964, although 1 is preserved in working order.
This is very much a pictorial record of the class over the years, showing it in service all over the Southern Region, but especially in the Western area. It is a very nice record of a handsome and effective class of locomotives.
