The Steam Railway - Western Scotland
112 pages with around 200 B&W photos of steam at work on the Scottish Region from Mallaig in the north to Stranraer in the south, with the bulk in the Glasgow area.
The vast majority of the photographs were taken by W.A.C. Smith who worked in the Train Planning department of Scottish Region HQ in Glasgow which probably explain why he seems to have been in place, camera to the ready, for special trains or unusual workings which appear in this selection. In many cases he also knew of unusual locations for shots; this book certainly is somewhat different to many Scottish railway books as a result.
A4 format paperback.
