In this second volume, the authors describe and analyse thegrowth of the Réseau Breton for its 'golden age' in the 1950s, up to closure of the narrow gauge lines in 1967, and the replacement by standard gauge on a number of its routes.

The rolling stock situation, especially as regards the autorails both for the metre and standard gauges is covered as is the arrival of the 141TCs and diesel power. This second superb volume ends with a summary of the preserved items in operation on torist railways.
