This 4 volume  “Steam Locomotive Study Course’, published by The International Correspondence School just post World War 2, was reprinted by Wildwood Publications in 1979. This is a beautiful set, crammed with huge amounts of technical information. Whilst it is largely concerned with the American variety of steam locomotive, much of the knowledge in this set’s 1433 pages is internationally applicable. There are no photographs, just 100s and 100s of very clear drawings, some fold out and in colour. These courses were intended for the information of footplatemen and running shed workers, and each section has questions at the end. Hardbound.
