L'Age d'Or du Modélisme Trains et Ambiances Ferroviaires en HO
On my first visit to Paris, many years ago, I fond a model shop called "Chez Froment, Tous les trains" at 71 rue d Lyon which ran along one side of the Gare de la Bastille, then in operation with solely steam power. "Chez Froment" was an amazing source of French and other nations' HO railways, and I spent my remaining francs on HornbyAcho, Rivarossi and various artisanal manufacturers. Armed with these purchases I sailed home and started modelling French railways in HO, something I kept up until steam claimed me some 20 plus years later. And I still have all the engines, rolling stock etc which I bought then, in two large wooden boxes under my bed!
The point of this self-indulgent 'burble is that all these models, plus those I missed, or which followed on are in this superb book of dreams - 319 A4 format hardbound pages, crammed with largely colour photographs of the products of all the big manufacturers of the era, and a fair few lesser artisanal manufacturers. Whilst it concentrates on French products, it also covers those of Marklin, Jouef, Hornby, Faller etc. to a degree.
If you model, or have ever modelled French railways, or collect HO models, you will absolutely drool over this book!
Hardbound.
