Brotherhoods, Engineers for Power, Transport & Weapons

£26.00

When the sun rose on the railway era Rowland Brotherhood was an engineering contractor to the GWR, moving on to become a locomotive and wagon builder in Chippenham.  His son Peter worked with him for a while before moving to London and forming his own company, which was the start of a concern which continues to this day.

In essence Brotherhoods would manufacture virtually anything, which in part is how they have survived, but major products have been petrol and diesel engines, compressors, turbines engines for torpedoes, as well as many other items with commercial applications.

An extraordinary history and a fascinating read. 312 smaller format pages. Numerous B&W illustrations. Paperback.
